Hazeel Cult

Sunday, August 23rd, 2009

Start: Begin by speaking to Sir Ceril Carnillean in the southwest corner of Ardougne.
Skills: None!
Quests: None
What You Need: Nothing required.

Getting Started

First log in your runescape accounts then speak with Sir Ceril Carnillean, located in a mansion in the southwest corner of East Ardougne. The mansion is a short distance west of the Ardougne Zoo. Ceril says that cultists keep breaking into his house and they have stolen his family armor. Now head south over the bridge behind the mansion, and enter the cave just east of the Clocktower.

Speak to Clivet and ask him what he means about the Carnilleans. Now you must choose to recover the armor for Ceril, or side with the evil cult and revive Hazeel.

The Good Side (Easy)

When you speak to Clivet, refuse to help him with his plans. He will board the raft and leave, but before you can follow after him you need to redirect the water. Go back to Ceril and speak to him, and then you’ll need to turn each of the valves, as indicated on the map to the right. If you don’t turn the valves correctly, you’ll end up somewhere elsewhere than the hideout.

Now go back inside of the cave and board the raft. Head south and speak with Alomone (level 13). He is the leader of the cult ,and he says that the butler is part of their group. Attack him and once he is dead, he should drop the Carnillean Armor!

Bring this back to Ceril and tell him about the butler, but he won’t believe you. Go upstairs and speak with him again, but he still doesn’t believe you that Butler Jones is a Hazeel member. He will then give you 5gp as a “reward.” Search the Cupboard in Jones’ room to find some poison and an Mark of Hazeel, which proves to Ceril about it. You’ll then receive your reward!

The Evil Side (Slightly Longer)

When you speak to Clivet, agree to help him. He will give you some poison, and he says that you need to kill someone from the Carnillean family. Head back to the mansion and go downstairs. Use your poison on the stew that the cook is cooking. Go back upstairs and speak to Ceril of Philippe to find out that someone (you) has killed their dog.

Go back to Clivet, tell him the good news, and he will give you the Mark of Hazeel. Wear the mark, leave the mansion and then turn the valves as indicated above. Don’t forget, you’ll end up somewhere else if you turn the levers the wrong way. Go back into the cave and take the raft. Speak to Alomone, who now needs a scroll the resurrect Hazeel! Go back to the mansion and talk to the butler (while wearing the mark). Now go downstairs and search the crates for a key.

Go back upstairs and knock on the butler’s wall to find a secret passage leading to a ladder heading up. Use the key on the chest to find a Scroll to resurrect Hazeel. Go back to Alomone who will now start the ritual… and he will appear! Hazeel is level 296, and non-attackable. Quest complete, and you’ll receive your reward!

How to Play Runescape - A Beginner’s Guide

Sunday, August 16th, 2009

You must read and understand Jagex’s rules! They are trying to provide a safe and pleasant experience for players 13 and over. There are a lot of people over 30 playing this game, too, so it’s not just for kids! (I know some people over 80 who play this to keep their minds sharp!) Because of copyright laws, I can’t use screen shots from the actual game for this article. I will add a link to my Runescape blog at the end, to the book, and a link to the game. There is a whole lot to learn about this game, so set aside some time and be patient!
Start Page Once you have signed up using the Create a free runescape accounts (new user), set up the way you want to make your basic character look - they have some great choices and you will probably keep that look for a while. Then make the most of the tutorial they provide when you start a new character - try everything twice or more to get the hang of things. Keep as much of the cooked food as you can - this will help as you start the next step.
When you start working on your character in real Runescape (as opposed to TutorialIsland), I suggest you put most of your goods and runescape gold in the Lumbridge Castle bank. That will be close to your starting point. Just go inside the castle, head to the south staircase and go up two flights.
You will need food to be able to fight while building your skills. Keep the shrimp you cooked on Tutorial Island in your inventory. Keep your woodcutting axe and a tinder box. Wear your shield and sword. Then head over to the south west area of Lumbridge. Look for the cow pasture. This is where you can start building your skills - including combat.
With your basic weapon and armour equipped and your tinder, axe and cooked shrimp to keep your health up in your inventory, you can begin combat safely. After each cow you kill, pick up the bones, hides and meat. (Don’t worry - this stage of the game does not last long and you will be able to work on truly nasty monsters later!) Bury the bones by clicking on them. When you have about 10 raw meat and/or your fish is gone, cut a tree down and light the logs. Cook the meat. Keep repeating all the steps and you will see yourself leveling.
Return to the bank in the Lumbridge castle on the third floor often. Plan to bank your hides for use in crafting later. Put any cooked meat in the bank, too, but take about 5 when you return to the cows - it will come in very handy in the beginning. Concentrate on working on these skills for now. You will be raising combat, cooking, woodcut and fire making all at once and it will give you a big head start for later. (All those cow hides in the bank will really help as well.)
If you want an all around character, be sure you switch your combat choice around as you get different levels of combat. You can choose runescape power leveling. As you build up your skills, you will be able to make, fish or catch better types of food, and even smith weapons and armour that you can use. When you can use other, higher weapons, you will be able to choose shared on your combat assign - allowing all three to earn experience at the same time.
Read Runescape’s manuals and guides to get an idea of the many things you can do on this great game. Check out my blog and Rune Registry’s listings of players with Runescape related websites for more tips and secrets to playing this game well and have a great gaming experience! A Soul’s Bane

Tuesday, August 11th, 2009

Start: Begin by talking to the old women named Launa who can be found north of the glider in the Digsite.
Skills: None!
Quests: None!
What You Need: Rope and Anti Poison
Optional Items: Decent armor and food.

Scroll down to the end of the guide to find a ‘Fast Quest Walkthrough’.

Getting Started

Log in your runescape accounts then talk to Launa and she will tell you about the origin of the Hole and about her son and husband. When the chance comes, tell her that you will go look for her husband and son.

Now take a rope, use it with the Rift and climb down into the Anger Room.

The Anger Room

As soon as you enter you will watch a small cutscene. To get through this room you have to fill up the Anger Meter:

To do this, you have to kill the monsters in the room. You will have a choice of taking a weapon from the weapon rack, and each weapon only hurts one type of monster in the room:

Sword - Anger Unicorn
Spear - Anger Bear
Mace - Anger Giant Rat
Battleaxe - Anger Goblin
Don’t be surprised if you hit high in the room: as you can see from the pictures below, it’s natural to hit well over 100!

Kill the animals in the room until your Anger Meter fills up, and once it’s full, your character will do a weird dance and a dragon comes out.

Then the screen blacks out and you will see a short cutscene. Now go through the exit, not the ladders.

The Fear Room

Go around and look into every Dark Hole on the sides of the wall. Search all of the Dark Holes until a Fear Reaper comes out, kill it, and repeat until you’ve killed 5.

After you have killed 5 Fear Reapers, you will view a short cut scene. Then go and Enter the Black Hole.

The Confusion Room

runescape accounts for sale In this room you will see lots of doors and monsters. Leave the doors alone for now, and instead go and attack one of the Confusion Beasts. Keep attacking the beast until it disappears. Don’t stop attacking the beast, even if you are hitting zero. Attack every monster and eventually you will find the real Confusion Beast. You will know when you have found the real Confusion Beast as you will be hurting it instead of hitting zero’s.
Note: If you run, the Confusion Beasts may mage you!

Be careful as they can poison you, but the poison is weak and only hits 1’s. You have to kill that beast 5 times and after the fifth time, there will be only one door standing.
You will then see another cut scene. Now enter the remaining door.

The Hopeless Room

In this room, you’ll have to kill each monster 3 times. When you get it’s first form down to 0 hitpoints, it will shrink down and regain its’ hitpoints and you’ll have to fight it again. After killing it for a third time, it will disappear completely. Now cross the Bridge of Hope and enter the Black Hole.

The Last Room

When you enter the black hole from the hopeless room, you will see another cut scene - but this time it is between the father and… the tentacles… I mean son, as they reminisce.

After the cut scene, it is you job to kill the three tentacles. They are quite weak, but they can poison you, although the poison only hits 1 at most. Then Tolna will wake up.

When Tolna has woken up, speak to him. When the conversation is over you will appear outside. Once you are outside, Launa will no longer be there, but Tolna will. Speak to Tolna and he will tell you about what he was doing inside the rift. Then he will thank you, and give you your reward. Congratulations! Quest Complete!

Ernest the Chicken

Tuesday, August 11th, 2009

Start: Begin by speaking to Veronica outside Draynor Manor.
Skills: None!
Quests: None!
What You Need: A Pressure Gauge, Rubber Tube, Oil Can, Fish Food, a bottle of Poison, a Spade, and a Small Key.

Scroll down to the end of the guide to find a ‘Fast Quest Walkthrough’.

Getting Started

First off, log in your runescape accounts then speak to Veronica who will be wandering around near the gate of Draynor Manor. The manor is just north of Draynor Village. She says that she’s in trouble, and tell her that you can help. Continue north along the path until you reach a large building and go inside.

Climb the first set of stairs in the room, and then climb the smaller staircase leading to the third floor. Talk to Professor Oddenstein, the eccentric-looking scientist in the room, and ask him about Ernest. The Professor says that he has turned him into a chicken. Tell him to change him back, and he says that his machine is broken and he needs several parts to get it running again. He needs a Pressure Gauge, a Rubber tube, and an Oil Can.

Pressure Gauge & Rubber Tube

With the list of needed items to get the machine running again, go back down the stairs leading to the second floor. Walk past the other set of stairs and notice the box of Fish Food on the floor across from the stairs. Pick it up and go down the stairs leading to the ground floor. Now go through the north door, and into the kitchen to the west. Next to the stove is a door, and in the small room is a bottle of Poison.

Now leave the kitchen and head into the room with a black and grey checkered floor. Next to the stairs is a room with a Spade in the corner. Pick it up and leave through the door. Walk around the Mansion, first to the north, and then to the west. When you come upon a Compost Heap, walk up to it and use your spade with it to find a Small Key.

Continue south until you reach a fountain filled with vicious Piranhas. Use the Poison with the Fish Food to poison it, and then use the Poisoned Fish Food with the fountain to kill them. Search it to find the Pressure Gauge. Now walk to the east and go back into the Manor. Just past the staircase is a small closet. Use the Small Key with the door and pick up the Rubber Tube .

The Oil Can

Leave the closet and walk into the room with a pink floor and search the bookcase on the west wall to find a secret door. Now climb down the ladder into a basement filled with small rooms and levers on the walls. This is the tricky part of the quest, and you need to pull the levers in order and continue into the correct room.

To help you with this runescape quest, I’ve made a map of the maze with the levers and doors which you can follow. Each lever has it’s own color on this map, and each of the doors are labeled from 1-9, which is how directions are given to completing the maze.

First, pull levers A and B down. Go through door 1 and pull lever D down. Walk through doors 2 and 3, and pull levers A and B up. Go back through door 3, and through 4 and 5. Pull levers E and F down, and head out door 6, and through door 7. Now pull lever C down, and go back through doors 7 and 6. Pull lever E up and go through doors 6, 8 and 3. Now you can go through door 9 and pick up an Oil Can.

Fixing the Machine

Now go back up the ladder and pull the lever on the wall to open the secret door up. Head back upstairs to Professor Oddenstein and give him the parts to the machine. He’ll fix it and turn Ernest back into a human, and you’ve finished the quest!

Rewards

4 Quest Points,it will save you a lot of time and gold on runescape power leveling.

The Golem

Monday, August 3rd, 2009

Start: Begin by speaking to the Golem in the Ruins of Uzer.
Skills: 25 Thieving, 20 Crafting.
What You Need: Desert Robes & Boots, Waterskins, a Knife (for refilling Waterskins with Cactus water), 4 Soft Clay, a Pestle and Mortar, Empty Vial, Papyrus (bought from the Tai Bwo Wannai Jungle Store, Shilo Village or East Ardougne), Shantay Passes.

Recommended Items: A Dueling Ring and Varrock Teleport Runes would be advantageous, and bring a Hammer and Chisel if you want some extra Gems.

Getting Started

Firstly, log in your runescape accounts then buy some Shantay Passes from Shantay, located at the pass with the same name, south of Al Kharid. Go through the pass and head southeast, until you get to a bridge, and then continue east, until you find a Golem among some ruins. Speak with him, and you’ll find that he is damaged and he has a task to complete. Use 4 Soft Clays on him, and speak to him again.

Now he will tell you about a Golem Army created to destroy a Demon from another dimension! He needs some help to recreate the portal to access the Demon’s lair and consequently destroy the evil creature. Speak to him again and ask him how to open the portal. The statuettes must be turned correctly to open it up. Go inside the nearby temple, look around, and then leave (you must do this in order to talk to the Curator later on). Pick up the Letter lying near the Crates and read it:

This letter suggests to go to the Digsite, which is just east of Varrock. Speak to Elissa, who can be found in the north-eastern area of the digsite. She tells you about Varmin’s Expedition Notes and that they can be found in the Exam Center Library. Search the bookcases until you find the white book, which gives you some interesting info about the history of Uzer. Now go back to the Curator in the Varrock Museum.

Note:If, for some reason, you happen to still have a Certificate from the Shield of Arrav Quest in your bank, the Curator won’t do anything during the runescape quest, so either collect your reward or drop that certificate.

Ask him about the Statuette, but he refuses to let you have it. Pickpocket him for the Cabinet Key, go upstairs, and use the key to unlock the Display Case to get the Statuette. Head back to Uzer, but after crossing the bridge in the desert, find the Desert Phoenix, which roams around the clay mine north of Uzer, and take a Phoenix Feather from it. The take-feather action works just like pickpocketing, the Phoenix might get angry and stun you as well as doing 1 damage on you.

Before entering the temple near the Golem, pick some Black Mushrooms, that are found just near the stairs. Do not eat them! With a Vial in your backpack, grind them up with your Pestle and Mortar to get a vial of Black Mushroom Ink. Now go downstairs.

The Statuettes

Once you’re downstairs, put the Statuette you “borrowed” from the Varrock Museum in the empty slot in the center of the temple. Now turn the 4 statuettes, so that the 2 on the west side are facing left, and the 2 on the east side are facing right. Check the chatbox when you turn them if you’re not sure of their direction. The doors to the portal should now open! Go inside and examine the horned skeleton on your right to learn that the Demon is dead! Awesome!

If you want six extra gems (a few extra goodies never did any harm to anyone), use your Hammer and Chisel on the throne in the demonic room.

Step out of the Portal, grab the Strange Implement that you can find on your right and head back upstairs to the Golem. Apparently, the Golem has been programmed and he can not believe that the Demon is dead without his intervention. Dip your Phoenix feather in the Black Mushroom ink, use your now Inked Phoenix Feather on the Papyrus (where you’ll scribble “Your task is done”), and then use the Strange Implement (which happens to be a sort of key) on the Golem to open his head. Quickly use the Papyrus on him to update his program and… Quest Complete!

Rewards

1,000 Crafting and Thieving experience,it will save you a lot of time and runescape gold on runescape power leveling.
If you bring a Hammer and Chisel and use it on the Demon’s Throne, you will receive 6 Gems.
