Difficulty: Novice

Length: Long

Quest Requirements:
Plague City

Quests Unlocked/Partially Unlocked by completing this Quest:
Underground Pass
Recipe for Disaster

Items Needed to Complete Quest: Priest gown (top), Priest gown (bottom)

Quest Points: 3

Reward: 1250 Thieving runescape power leveling experievces, access to the Combat Training Camp, and access to West Ardougne.

Start Point: East Ardougne, in the building west of the bank.

To Start: Speak to Elena.

Instructions:

log in your runescape accounts then talk to Elena, she will say that her Distillator has been stolen by the Mourner and the tunnel is blocked. Accept her runescape quest and she will tell you to find a man called Jerico.

Jerico is located in the house south of the north bank in East Ardougne. After you have found him, talk to him and he will ask you to find Omart. Before you leave, pick up one Pigeon Cage and search his cupboards to find some Bird feed.

Omart is located west of the Carnillean Mansion. After you have found him, talk to him and he will say every thing is ready but you can’t risk it with the watch tower so close. He will say that you should go back and talk to Jerico again. You can but if you don’t want to waste time, DON’T.

Remember that you have the pigeon cage and some bird feed? Go to the watchtower which is located north of Omart (next to the closed city gates). To use the bird feed, you will need to stand in the corner by the south barrocks and the east barrocks. Once there, use the birdseed on the watchtower and open the pigeon cage. The mourners will now focus on the pigeons instead of you. Talk to Omart and Kilron will throw a rope ladder over the wall. Climb the ladder to get into West Ardougne.

Go to the northeast building in West Ardougne. Take a Rotten apple which is just a little northwest of the house. Climb over the fence and use the Rotten apple on the Cauldron. Try to open the door and a Mourner will say that some Mourners are ill and they need a doctor.

Now it’s your time to be a doctor. Head southwest and find Nurse Sarah’s house - directly southwest of the Monastery. Go in and search the cupboard; you will find a Doctor’s gown. Put it on and go back to the Mourner house.

Open the door in front of the Mourner house. The Mourners will let you in. Climb up the staircase. Open the door and tell the Mourner whatever you like. He will attack you. Kill him, if he doesn’t give you a key (it will appear in your pack) then do the same to the other Mourner. Use it on the gate and the gate should open. Search all the crates until you find the Distillator. Get out of the house.

Go to the southeast corner of the plague city area. Talk to Kilron and tell him that you want to go back.

Go to Elena’s house and talk to her. She will give you some filled vials. She will also ask you to get some touch paper from the Chemist and use the Chemist’s delivery men to smuggle the vials to Varrock. Accept the items she gives you. DON’T TELEPORT OR THE PLAGUE SAMPLE WILL BREAK, although you can put it in your bank and then teleport.

The Chemist is located just west of Rimmington. After you reach there, talk to the Chemist; just say you are Elena’s friend. DO NOT SAY ANYTHING ABOUT PLAGUE. Say that you need the Touch paper for Guidor (need the vials and sample with you). He will give you the paper. If you happen to mention the plague he will take away your sample and you will have to go back to Elena to get a new one.

Now it’s time to give the vials to the 3 delivery men. Give Hops the Sulphuric broline, Chancy the Liquid honey and Da Vinci the Ethanea. They will say that they will meet you in the Dancing Donkey Inn in Varrock. Make sure you have the Plague sample with you, because if you get the vials from the delivery men, and then need to get the sample out of the bank, the guard will just take away the vials and you will have to go back to Elena to receive the vials all over again.

The Dancing Donkey Inn is located in the southeast corner of Varrock. Before you reach there, a guard should search you. That’s why you needed the delivery men to smuggle the other vials. Talk to them in the Dancing Donkey Inn to get back the vials.

Guidor’s house is just southeast of this inn. Talk to Guidor’s wife, she will say that she needs a priest. Put on the Priest gowns (these can be purchased with some runescape gold cheaply at the clothing shop next door) and talk to Guidor’s wife again. She will allow you to go in.

Now it is time to realize the truth. Talk to Guidor and tell him you are here because of Elena and give all the vials to him. He will tell you that there is no plague.

Go back to Elena’s house and tell her there is no plague, she will tell you to see the King of Ardougne.

The King is upstairs in the palace in Ardougne, which is located west across the bridge from the General Store. Talk to King Lathas and he will tell you about his brother, King Tyras, and reward you.

After fighting the dragon, he gives you a sword and a shield to start your combat basics training. If you hover your cursor over an attackable character in RuneScape, their combat level will appear in the top-left corner of the game screen. Sir Vant decides that the best way to learn about combat is to fight a goblin! Make sure you pick up the items it dropped.

2.Quest Journal
Sir Vant will give you a list of tasks, which will be put in your Quest Journal.

3.Death:
When you die, the three most valuable items will be kept in your inventory. The other items will be protected by a gravestone, which will keep your items for a certain amount of time. If the time runs out, you lose your items and runescape gold

4.Combat - Ranged:
The dragon returns, but this time it brings a friend: a Chaos Druid. Sir Vant needs your assistance!

Speak to Nemarti, the Ranged Tutor. She will give you a bow and some arrows, and will teach you how to use them. Nemarti shows you how to wield the items, and explains death with more depth. Fighting styles will also be explained, as you proceed to attack a target from a distance.

When your training is complete, head back to Sir Vant and fight against the Chaos Druid. Use the Longrange attack style!

5.Fishing:
Sir Vant feels hungry and asks you to catch some crayfish for him. He will explain you that food heals you. Exit the cellar and follow the flashing arrow to Finlay, the Fishing Tutor. He will give you a crayfish cage and teach how to catch fish. Catch two crayfish and speak to Finlay; he will direct you to Cordero, the Cooking Tutor.

6.Cooking:
Find Codero to the South of Lumbridge by following the flashing arrow. After talking to him, use your raw crayfish with the range to cook them. You will burn the first one and will cook the second. To get rid of the burnt crayfish you can simply drop them on the floor. Speak to the Cooking Tutor again and then bring your cooked crayfish back to Sir Vant.

7.Combat - Magic:
After Sir Vant is healed, he asks you to gather runes from Mikasi, the Magic Tutor. Leave the cellar, and go to the same building the Ranged Tutor was in. Speak to Mikasi and she will give you 30 Air Runes and 30 Mind Runes. Mikasi will teach you about your spellbook, and how it works. Speak to her again and try out your magic skills to cast the Wind Strike spell on the magic dummy. Once you have completed the training, Mikasi will give you a bag of runes to take to Sir Vant. Return to the cellar to aid Sir Vant against the dragon.

8.Prayer:
Sir Vant reveals that he uses Prayers to aid him in combat. To find out more, he asks you to see Yauchomi, the Prayer Tutor, in the chapel.

Yauchomi will teach you about the Prayer tab and how the Prayers work. While you are waiting for your prayer to drain, try playing the organ!

Your prayer has drained, so locate the Altar to recharge. Afterwards, speak to the Prayer Tutor again to learn about burying bones. They give you Prayer Experience!

9.Banking:
You can choose what task to do next: this next one is banking. Head to the Lumbridge Castle and climb the stairs to the top floor. Here you meet the Bank Tutor. The bank is a helpful tool to store you many items. This tutorial will show you the basics of deposits and withdrawls, and how to use tabs.

10.Mining:
Go to the east of Lumbridge, across the river, and proceed into the mine. Once inside, head over to Monlum, the Mining Tutor. He will teach you about prospecting rocks, pickaxes and mining rocks. If you have a high enough attack level, you can wield a pickaxe as a weapon.

Speak to tutor about prospecting rocks, and find some Copper ore. Extract it by using the pickaxe on the rock, or simply left-clicking the rock if you have wielded the pickaxe. Use the same method to prospect and mine tin ore. Monlum will direct you to Feoras, the Smelting Tutor. He can be found above ground at the Furnace.

11.Smelting:
Smelt with the furnace, and a menu will appear detailing all bars that are available. Right-click Bronze Bar, choose Smelt X, type 1. Well done! You get a Bronze Bar. Feroas will then direct you back to the Mine, where Sani, the Smithing Tutor is.

12.Smithing:
Back in the Mine, Sani is located to the East. He teaches how to turn that bronze bar into an item. Use your bronze bar with the anvil and a menu will pop up. Select the Bronze Axe and Make 1 Axe. Congratulations! Now you can use this axe to chop trees. Sani will direct you to Wilfred, the Woodcutting Tutor. He is found near Feoras, the Smelting Tutor.

13.Woodcutting:
There are many trees around RuneScape, with different types. To cut them we need an axe: this can be wielded like a weapon. Wilfred will ask you to cut down a basic tree.

14.Firemaking:
After getting the logs, Wilfred asks if you want to make a fire. He will direct you to the General Store, located by an empty Pot on the minimap, to buy a tinderbox. The store owner will teach you how to use shops. Right-click and Trade with the Shopkeeper, and buy 1 tinderbox. Head back to Sir Vant in the cellar once you have done this.

In the cellar, speak to Sir Vant. He will ask you to make him a fire in the fire pit next to him. Walk over to it, and Use your Tinderbox with your Logs. Speak to Sir Vant and he will guide teach you about cooking on fires. Using a fire to cook has more chance to burn food than a cooking range does. However, fires are very convenient.

15.In the cellar, speak to Sir Vant.

Open up your music tab and learn about the music. There are many to unlock! To adjust the volumes, go to your Options Tab, and click on the Audio button at the top.

16.Friends, Ignore and Clan Chat:
Use your friends list to add people you have met. It tells you whether they are online, and what world they are in. The ignore list is for people you don’t want to hear from. You can add and remove names at any time. Clan Chat provides a chatting ‘channel’ for you and a group of friends to talk amongst yourselves privately. Lootshare options are in this tab.

17.Conclusion
Phileas, the Lumbridge Guide, will enter the cellar and wonder what has happened. He has been watching your progress and is there for any questions you need to ask him. Leave the cellar to begin your RuneScape adventures!

Congratulations! Tutorial Completed!

Instructions:

Enter Draynor Manor, north of Draynor Village, and make your way to the southwester room. Search the bookcases on the west wall to enter Ava’s room to the west. Talk to her and accept her offer to make her home a better place. She will tell you to fix her bed first by getting some two Undead chickens from Port Phasmatys.

Note: You can leave her room by pulling the lever on the eastern wall. The easiest way to get to Draynor Manor is via a Amulet of glory teleport to Draynor Village

Log in your runescape accounts then head over to farm northwest of Port Phasmatys. Talk to Alice and tell her you are there for a quest. She will direct you to her husband.

Note: The easiest way to get to Port Phasmatys is via a Ectophial teleport or by chartering a boat from Port Sarim to Port Phasmatys for 1300 Coins

Speak with Alice’s husband to the west using your Ghostspeak amulet and he will ask you to tell his wife that he still loves her.

Talk to Alice and she will tell you to ask her husband where the family fortune is. Go back to Alice’s husband and he will tell you it is in a bank. Report back to Alice and she will tell you to ask her husband about the bank pin code. When you ask him, he will say that he cannot trust you with that privileged information. Talk to Alice again. You will come up with an idea to make an enchanted Ghostspeak amulet so that she can talk directly with her husband. She will direct you to Old crone to the west, who will be able to help.

Head west to the small house just east of the Slayer Tower, north of Canifis. Once there talk to Old crone. Talk to her and she will make you a Crone-made amulet to give to Alice’s husband.

Note: You must have the Ghostspeak amulet in your inventory or she will not give you the Crone-made amulet.

Retrun to Alice’s husband and give him the Crone-made amulet. A cut scene will occur. Afterwards, talk to him again and he will offer to sell you Undead chickens for 10 Ecto-tokens each. Buy two for 20 Ecto-tokens and go back to Ava.

Return to Ava in Draynor Manor and she will offer to help you make a never-ending supply of feathers. Agree to help and she will tell you to talk to the Witch next door.

Note: The easiest way to get to Draynor Manor is via a Amulet of glory teleport to Draynor Village

Go to the most northwestern room of Draynor Manor and talk to the Witch. She will ask for 5 Iron bars. Give them to her and she will give you a piece of Selected iron.

Take the Selected iron to the Rimmington mine, west of Port Sarim. While facing north, use a Hammer on the Selected iron to craft a Bar magnet.

Return the Bar magnet to Ava. You must now gather some regenerating wood. She will tell you to chop one of the undead trees that attack people as they walk the path to the main entrance of Draynor Manor. Go outside and try to chop such a tree with a Mithril hatchet or higher. You will be unable to, so talk to Ava to find another solution. Ava will tell you that Turael, the Slayer master in Burthorpe, may be able to help.

Talk to Turael at his house in the southeastern part of Burthorpe. He will tell you that in order to cut undead trees you will need a Blessed hatchet. He will require a Mithril hatchet and a Holy symbol to make it. Give him both items in exchange for a Blessed hatchet.

Note: The easiest way to get to Burthorpe is via a Games necklace teleport.

Head back to Draynor Manor, and cut a Undead twig from one of the attacking trees along the path to the main entrance of Draynor Manor. Take them to Ava, who will give you some Research notes

Note: The easiest way to get to Draynor Manor is via a Amulet of glory teleport to Draynor Village
Now, you must translate these Research notes notes in order help Ava in creating your reward. There are nine green buttons on the translation screen. When you click them, they will turn red. Leave the 2nd, 5th, and 9th button from the left green and turn the rest red.

Give the Translated notes to Ava. She will now give you A pattern and ask you to use the Polished buttons with the Hard leather to make A container.

Hand over the Container to Ava to receive your reward.

Congratulations! Quest Complete!

Ava’s Attractor/Accumulator:

If your Ranged level is lower than 50, Ava’s reward will be an arrow-creating backpack called Ava’s attractor. The Undead chickens in it can attract stray arrowheads with a magnet, add wood from the undead twigs, and then finish the arrows using its own feathers. This will give you an unending source of arrows. If you lose it, you can talk to Ava for a new one, although it will cost you 999 runescape gold pieces.

If your Ranged level is 50 or higher, then the reward for the quest will be the upgraded Ava’s accumulator. It can collect up to Steel arrows. If you lose it, you must buy an Ava’s attractor for 999 Coins, then you can upgrade it for 75 Steel arrow to an Ava’s accumulator.

Note: Both devices are worn as a cape. However they will not function whilst wearing most metallic chest armors, and you will need to move around a bit so that it can scan the area for arrows.
